Information about joining as an Associate
The information in this section takes you through the application process of becoming an Associate.
Application sequence & process
- Person contacts Swindon Music Service and expresses interest in becoming an associate vweston@smscio.co.uk
- We will then arrange an interview and performance (also conceding of a model lesson to a beginner – we will provide the beginner and the instrument)
- We will send you an Application form via WeTransfer. Once you have completed this form, send it back to us Via WeTransfer
- Follow the interview, we will then check:
- Teacher and others prohibited from the profession list (using surname or TRN if applicable)
- DBS Children’s Barred List
If the interview is successful, the applicant will then be asked to provide the follow:
Applicant send us proof via WeTransfer
- PLI Certificate
- DBS (** If they do not have a DBS or are not signed up to the update service they must apply before sending in application **)
- ID Documents
- Safeguarding Training Certificate (if you have one, send a copy of the up-to-date certificate – if not we will send you an online course to be completed)
- Applicant then signs Ts & Cs
- They indicate if they would like safeguarding training (If they don’t have an up to date certificate)
- Applicants provide their Safeguarding policy.
- Applicant supplies photo ID and right to work in the UK and proof of their address
Creating a Profile of the Associate Directory
To create a profile of the online Associate Directory, th applicant will be sent an email to log in to complete the information.
